Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child

Run by Samaritans Purse, Operation Christmas Child more familiarly known as the Christmas shoe box has been run again in the Benefice during October with Dodford church acting as the local central collection point.  At the time of writing 28 boxes have been collected (that’s one more than last year) although a few more might float in before the final delivery date.  Unfortunately our target of 50 boxes was perhaps a little out of our reach but we can all try again next year.  At least we know that 28 children somewhere in the world will have a little something to bring a smile, knowing that someone, somewhere has sent them something.  So a BIG thank you to everyone for your generosity.

there’s still time to donate

During November, Dodford Church will act as the central point within the Benefice for anyone wishing to donate.  The Church will be open every Saturday throughout November from 9am To 4 pm and the 16th November following our service until midday.

If you’re looking for other donation opportunities you can hand in your shoe box at other places until 18th November 2014 – please visit the Samaritan’s Purse website to search for your local drop off point and find out information on how to pack your shoe box.
